Sentek Global Continues to Support the Lynch Foundation for Children and Saved in America

On May 10, 2018, the Sentek Global team attended the 2nd Annual Rays of Hope fundraising event. This event focuses on runaway and missing children who are being trafficked. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that 20% of the runaways reported were sex trafficking victims. The FBI names San Diego as one of the 13 areas with the highest rates of child sex trafficking in the nation. Sex trafficking is also San Diego’s second largest underground economy after drug trafficking, representing an estimated $810 million in annual revenue.

The Rays of Hope fundraising event was held by the Lynch Foundation for Children. The foundation tackles sex trafficking using a three-pronged prevention approach: education, assistance in locating and recovering runaway children, and victims’ services support. Mr. William D, Lynch, the founder of The Lynch Foundation, stated that an ancient proverb describes it best: “He who saves one child saves the world.” The Lynch Foundation is working on this major issue in coordination with the San Diego County Human Trafficking Advisory Board, national and local law enforcement, The Children’s Advocacy Institute at University of San Diego, Saved in America, the educational system, and various non-governmental organizations.

Mr. Eric Basu, CEO of Sentek Global, raised his children in the San Diego community and sees this increasing problem as an ugly truth we must face and act upon. Saved in America, which Mr. Basu learned about through his network of retired Navy SEALs, is focused on fighting this problem and consists of former law enforcement officers, Navy SEALs, Marine Recon raiders, British Special Air Service, and military Special Operations Personnel. Through intelligence and evidence gathering, Saved in America has located and recovered 72 children, to date.

We are proud to report that The Lynch Foundation for Children’s 2nd Annual Rays of Hope event raised over $130,000 to support this cause.
