Q: What makes this course different than other courses?

A: This course is taught by experienced instructors with real world experience in multiple roles in DoD Information Assurance including Validator, Certification Authority Liaison, and Information Systems Security Engineer. Our course also includes a hands-on lab component that walks every student through the creation and testing of a RMF package using DoN-approved templates and tools.

Q: What is the lead time for MTT courses?

A: Travel needs to be booked by the instructor 3 weeks in advance of any course. Please allow for 6-8 weeks of lead time when planning an MTT class for identifying facilities, etc. Short-fused courses may be possible – please contact training@sentekglobal.com for further information.

Q: When will Sentek Global start offering a Risk Management Framework (RMF) course?

A: Sentek Global has elected to not field a full RMF course until the DoD policies on implementation of RMF mature. Our current course offerings already include basic RMF components and parallels to the DIACAP during the transition. We did not feel that it would be right to field a course and call it RMF until we are able to cover the process end-to-end as we do in our DIACAP offerings. RMF 101 and RMF 201 will be offered later this year

Q: I took your DIACAP course in the past, should I take your full RMF course when it becomes available?

A: The activities that the DIACAP uses are still valid processes as far as the detailed technical work, so it is not necessary to complete the upcoming RMF 201 course. In this case, the RMF 101 course would be more appropriate for familiarization. If there is enough interest, we are considering adding a course for seasoned professionals that covers RMF and the newer tools being used like ACAS.

Q: Why is your upcoming Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Validators course a full week when other companies offer a course much shorter for RMF?

A: Sentek Global’s current course offerings include more than the basic information regarding RMF and Risk Management. Our courses include the full life cycle of creation and execution of packages necessary for successful completion of the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process, and we are dedicated to offering the same in our RMF courses.

Q: What is the difference between DIACAP+ and RMF courses?

A: DIACAP+ is our standard offering of DIACAP training with the addition of the RMF modules during the transition. As the DoD policy matures on the RMF implementation and the RMF process is solidified, DIACAP+ will be retired and replaced by RMF. You still get all the core topics like Basic Risk Management, Roles and Responsibilities, Rules and Regulations, etc. plus the emerging RMF equivalents in the DIACAP+ courses.
